RUTHERFORDTON — On Wednesday, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office released body-worn camera footage from a March 17 incident where Deputy Caleb Wycoff was forced to shoot a dog that aggressively charged him. The footage confirms what the sheriff’s office said in a statement issued March 20: this was a dangerous and deeply unfortunate situation, and the deputy did everything he could to avoid a tragic outcome.
