All levels of government need to stop sticking their hands in private citizen's pockets.
Wouldn't it be refreshing to watch the Chimney Rock town government pass an ordinance forbidding vacation rental taxes within it's boundaries and immediate area?
How about NOT taxing vacation rentals, and letting the still recovering residents keep their money to pay for the financial damage they have had to endure?
How about proudly standing up for citizens who have been through so much, by letting them keep their hard earned dollars for a change - and making that big step in a Constitutional direction be PERMANENT.
