RUTHERFORDTON, N.C. — Emergency crews reported rising water, flooded roadways and activated warning sirens near Chimney Rock and surrounding areas as heavy rain continued through the overnight hours.
The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg had extended a Flash Flood Warning overnight for Henderson County, N.C., as emergency officials confirmed dangerous flooding was already occurring across the region.
